Helaas zijn er plekken op onze aarde waar de geboorte van een kind niet vanzelfsprekend een feest is.

In Zuid-Ethiopië is de kindersterfte rondom de bevalling en vóór het 5e levensjaar enorm groot. Gemiddeld rond de 250 op de 1000 kinderen sterven tijdens deze periode - 1 op de 4 kinderen haalt het 5e levensjaar niet!

Dit project gaat over het opzetten van een Moeder en Kindzorg centrum, het redden van levens en de gezondheid van moeders en kinderen drastisch verbeteren!

The Ethiopia Project as part of CAS program

Since January 1999 students at the International Secondary School Eindhoven (ISSE) carry out the "Ethiopia Help Project". The aim of this long-term project is twofold:

1. to involve ISSE students in informing parents and other students about the Ethiopia project and organize fund raising activities.
2. to set up some connection and interchange between the ISSE students and the Ethiopian students.

You can Adopt a Liqa Orphan Vulnerable Child (OVC) for as little as € 12 per month! 

This Project aims to improve access to books and other information to Ethiopian students. ISOB helps equipping libraries with books and computers and raises funds for the improvement of library services.

2003-2006 WODA (Wolaita Development Association) built the FIRST Public Library in Wolaitta Soddo with financial support of Wild Geese and ISOB in the Netherlands.  ISOB donated all books with the help of International Schools and friends.  Since 2006 Woliatta Public Library services the population of Soddo city.

Since our start in 1997 we work on capacity building programs in the region Wolayta. Strengthening Library services and Educational support to school and hospitals is our core business. Untill 2011 we donated over 25.000 study books and reference materials, as well as IT equipment such as computers and printers to primary and secondary schools and later to the newly build Universities. In recent years we also focus on strengthening health service, special for women in their reproductive years.
