You can Adopt a Liqa Orphan Vulnerable Child (OVC) for as little as € 12 per month! All you need to know about the Adoption
76% of Liqa school students are OVC (Orphans and Vulnerable Children) but excellent performers in school results. These students are poor economically, but high achievers academically. Many students have no family to live with and therefore rent a room in Soddo town and provide for their own. The school helps these needy students with pocket money to a maximum of € 12. This money is used for housing, clothes, food and books. It is a burden to the school that already has many challenges. Therefore ISOB team started the “Adopt a Liqa School OVC Student” action to help the most vulnerable students with pocket money for living costs.

About the
Wolaitta Development Association (WODA) established the Liqa Public School in 2007 with the help of Japan Embassy to teach orphans and vulnerable children (OVC's). The students are selected from 15 districts based on good performance but vulnerable economic background. The number of students has increased from 197 in 2007 to 432 in 2010! The goal and mission of the school is to help Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVC) and improve access to quality education in South Ethiopia. Students are learning from grade 5- 10 of primary and preparatory level. A new grade is added each year. All teachers are extra-ordinary committed to work and pass their spare times with their students, and close follow-up are believed to contribute to make the school special in the region and in the country. The students perform well and the school stood first at regional level.
